Deepika Padukone was born in Mangalore, Karnataka in the year 1986. His father Prakash Padukone is a former World badminton Champion and he was one of India's greatest sportsmen.Her mother Ujjala Padukone is a travel agent by profession.Deepika has a younger sister, Anisha.In her school days she too used to play badminton and even reached to the level of a State player but she did't go further to national level. And a career in modeling and shoebiz was chosen by her. Now she is an Indian supermodel and an upcoming bollywood actress.Deepika has been doing modeling since the time when she was in school.
To live her dreams Deepika Padukone quickly became a model and soon she had the brand like Limca, Liril, Close-Up toothpaste and Kingfisher with several other products. She was also having international brands likes of cosmetics giant Maybelline.The pretty model won several awards in her modeling career.She was also chosen as the 'Model of the Year' at the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards, for Indian models and designers.Later in the year 2006 she was among the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar.Deepika was awarded as Female Model of the year and Fresh Face of the year at the Idea Zee F Awards in 2006.
